Top Gear viewers left by the droves along with Clarkson, Hammond, and May in 2015. The show just wasn’t the same, and gearheads worldwide eagerly awaited The Grand Tour on Amazon Prime. The Grand Tour had mixed reviews, however I quite enjoyed it with the caveat that it’s basically a regurgitated Top Gear that actually felt even more scripted the first few episodes.
To be honest, I’ve never bothered to watch a single episode of the 2016 incarnation of Top Gear with Chris Evans, Matt LeBlanc, Chris Harris, and others. Chris Evans just ruined it for me.
2017 is a new year though, and I will most definitely be back for two primary reasons. One, Chris Evans is gone and Matt LeBlanc, Chris Harris, and Rory Reid are said to be the static hosts. Two, this trailer below makes me wonder if I’ll want to write off The Grand Tour. Clarkson, Hammond, and May better step up their game.
